Project Crimson – community planting day for Motu trials cycleway

Pohutukawas in Full Bloom at Kaiteriteri Beach, New ZealandProject Crimson, focussed on renewing Pohutukawa and Rata tree stocks in New Zealand, is helping new plantings on a stretch of the Motu Dunes Cycle Trail.

This community planting day is planned for the 8th June 2014. The project will involve planting 5,000 plants on Department of Conservation land between the Wairakaia Road access point and wetland area leading up to a spectacular viewpoint. A small rest area is proposed with a seating platform and interpretation board on the viewpoint.
